AEW Continental Classic Tournament (2023)

The Continental Classic Tournament was a round-robin tournament featuring 12 of AEW's top stars! The tournament kicked off on November 22nd, 2023 @ AEW Dynamite in Chicago, Illinois!

The tournament had 2 leagues of 6 competitors each, with each person per league wrestling each other at least one time. The tournament leagues were: GOLD LEAGUE and BLUE LEAGUE. The  GOLD LEAGUE winner was Jon Moxley of the Blackpool Combat Club. Moxley defeated Swerve Strickland and Jay White in the finals of the Gold League to advance to the tournament finals at AEW Worlds End on December 30th, 2023. The BLUE LEAGUE winner was Eddie Kingston, who put his ROH World and NJPW STRONG Openweight Championships up for grabs in the tournament as part of the new triple crown. Kingston defeated Bryan Danielson in the finals of the Blue League to advance to face Moxley at AEW Worlds End on December 30th, 2023.

The tournament is set up much like New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1 Climax tournament which takes place every year setting up the winner to face the IWGP World Champion at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom event in January.
